Simple Living Challenge: What is Simple Living?
Simple Living Challenge: What is Simple Living?
If you had asked me this question 5 years ago I would have said that it is going without, making everything at home, and not being “normal.” Today however my answer is different. It comes from a greater understanding and a greater desire to live better while feeling fulfilled.
Tsh Oxenreider in her book Organized Simplicity, describes Simple Living as “Living Holistically with your life’s Purpose.” I love that explanation of it, but I want to break it down a bit more int o terms that most people would understand. To live holistically one must live their life completely. There isn’t missing important events, There aren’t any missing parts, it is just living your life to the fullest.
Now this may be a different thing for each person. each of us are at different times in our lives, some have more kids then others, some have more requirements then someone else. None of that is important and you shouldn’t compare yourselves to others and where they in their journey to yourself. That will do nothing more then cause you stress and depression. That isn’t what simple living is all about. It is a personal journey and a personal change that will happen as you begin to live this way.
Each of us must decide our holistic goals and every one must also know your personal life purpose. If you don’t know what that is then you need to take that step first to figuring it out. This is done by digging deep and asking yourself where you see your family in 10 years, where you want your family to be, How do you want them to act, Is religion important to you?
Each of these things will help you to leave what Simple living means to you and how you can make the changes you need to make your life more simple!
What does Simple Living mean to you?? Leave it in the comments! If you have a blog post about it feel free to leave that as well.
Just wanted to let you know that I am so excited to join you on the Simple Living Challenge and share my post with you! Can’t wait to work through the rest of the month.
