How To Have A Sleep Schedule
This is an interesting subject for me to cover. This is probably one of the hardest things for me to follow. I have a hard time going to bed at night at a decent time. I am always thinking of the hundred things that need to get done and trying to finish things before going to bed. I can’t disconnect long enough to realize that everything will be there in the morning and I will probably be more productive then too. Can anyone relate?
Well, I sometimes think about days like today. I went to be on time last night and I woke up this morning with a determination to finish a few things I needed to get done. I woke up and got to work. I did lay in bed a bit longer then I had planned but it was ok, because I felt rested enough to jump into the tasks and get them done.
Then I compare that to days like a normal one for me. I normally will wake up and be so tired that even the thought of getting dressed wares me out. I feel like I have been hit by a train for most of the day and I am a not so nice mommy. This effects everything in my day. The willingness of my kids to help get stuff cleaned, the willingness of myself to be patient with them, and the amount of things I can get done.
It changes everything! So what do you do to get on a better schedule? How do you feel more productive and more rested? The simple answer is get enough sleep. The non- simple answer is to start to switch your schedule. This is probably the hardest thing to do. It is hard to go to bed when your not totally exhausted. Especially after doing it this way for so long. But I think the outcome of the decision and the determination to make it happen is so worth it.
So here is my new schedule that I will be doing.
I will be in bed at 12:00. I will be getting up at 7am. My hope is to get to bed earlier, but I have to take small manageable steps.
What is your sleep schedule?
