Natural and Easy Homemade Toilet Cleaner
Cleaning the toilet again? I know the feeling…I get it! It’s not fun, we all dread it, but you don’t have to anymore with this easy homemade toilet cleaner!
For years I have been making my own homemade cleaners to encourage my boys to live a more sustainable lifestyle. When I happened across this toilet bowl cleaner recipe, it was totally by accident. See I’m not the most graceful person and while I was cleaning the bathroom counter tops one day, the box of Borax toppled on it’s side and some fell directly into the toilet. I thought about flushing the Borax down the drain, but figured I would give it a shot. It couldn’t hurt and since I was getting ready to tackle the weekly chore that plagued my existence anyways I gave the Borax a swish and by golly…the toilet sparkled like it was brand new! I was sold on the idea and have been cleaning our toilets each week with Borax!
How can you get clean your toilet naturally?
Simply use about 1/8 of a cup of Borax in your toilet each week and swish it clean! If you have tougher stains or buildup in the toilet, you can try adding a little bit (approx. 1/4 cup) of vinegar to the toilet after cleaning with the Borax. Allow the mix to set for about an hour and the vinegar should take away any buildup you have left in the toilet after another swish around! Flush and viola..your toilet is cleaned naturally with your very own homemade cleaner!
