How to Save on Gas
Slow it Down – I know we all trying to get from point A to point B in a hurry, but slow down! Driving the speed limit or even 5 MPH under the speed limit isn’t going to make that big of a difference with getting to your destination. If you are truly in a hurry then leave your house 10 to 20 minutes earlier. Driving the speed limit can really make your gas go that much further!
Plan Your Trips – At the beginning of the week think about which errands you ned to get done. If possible try to plan all of your driving in one day. Getting all of your errands done in one day will eliminate the need for unnecessary trips throughout the week.
There’s an App For That! – Yes, there is even an app to help you save money on gas! Check out the app called Gas Buddy that will locate the cheapest gas in your area. Using this app can really help you rack up the savings.
Gas Rewards – Some grocery stores offer gas rewards when you shop at their store. If you shop at a store that offers these rewards, make sure you are taking advantage of them!
Keep Your Car Maintained – Keeping your car in good running condition is one of the best ways to save money on gas. It can help ensure you are getting the best gas mileage possible. Rotating your tires, changing the oil and other maintenance will help you save money on gas and overall car repairs.
Carpool – If possible consider doing a carpool. You can use a carpool for getting to and from work, shuttling the kids to school or to extracurricular activities. Getting involved in a carpool can make a significant dent in your monthly gas budget.
Use Public Transportation – When and if possible use public transportation. If your public transportation is not available in your area consider riding a bike or walking. You help the environment and your budget.
